Resumo

Entre urdidura, linha e pente – oralidade, permeabilidade e atualidade – procuro tecer um contorno da mulher narradora de histórias. Uma superfície irregular e assimétrica que traduzo em pele. Como uma fronteira entrecortada, que ao mesmo tempo a separa do todo ao seu redor, é invadida por ele. Essa “pele”, expressão da singularidade da mulher que narra, manifesta desejos e pensamentos, coloca sua voz no mundo. Para isso, utilizo-me do conto tradicional escocês “Maccodrum’s seal wife” e traço um paralelo entre a mágica pele roubada e o calar forçado das mulheres por tanto tempo. Reflito sobre a busca por esta voz através da contação de histórias, arte que aproxima pessoas de outras pessoas, pessoas de histórias e pessoas de si mesmas.

 

Abstract

Between warp, thread and comb – orality, permeability and actuality – I weave an outline of the woman storyteller. An irregular and asymmetrical surface that I to translate into skin. Like a intersected border, which at the same time separates it from the whole around, is invaded by it. This skin, expression of the singularity of the woman who narrates, manifests desires and thoughts, places her voice in the world. To do this, I am using the Scottish traditional tale “Maccodrum’s seal wife” and trace a parallel between the magic stolen skin and the forced silence of women for so long. I reflect on the search for this voice through Storytelling, art that brings peoples  together, and connects people to stories, and people to themselves.
